We are a manufacturer of industrial ultrasonic testing equipment most commonly used in the petrochemical, aerospace, automotive, and other generally related industries. The pages that follow will provide you with general information regarding our products. If you have any questions, need technical support, or have a request for custom items, please contact us at your leisure using the information provided on this site.

Our products are commonly used to determine the thickness of a variety of materials by making contact with only one side of the material being tested. They have the ability to detect very fine pits, flaws, and porosity in materials without having to destroy the material or parts being tested. This is done by converting the transit time of a sound wave, sent into and reflecting back from a defect or opposite surface in the test material, into a length measurement. This technique uses principles similar to that of sonar.

We also manufacture a line of ultrasonic bolting equipment that very accurately measures the stress, elongation, and load in threaded fasteners. These products are typically used in critical bolting applications where extreme accuracy is needed. If you have any specific or specialized bolting applications in mind, be sure to contact us to discuss your requirements in detail.

Enjoy!

  Highlights:
The CMX Multi-Purpose Material & Coating Thickness Gauge- Officially Released!

Click To See Larger - Hurray!! The new CMX series gauges are the latest addition to the Dakota product line. It's a brand new DSP platform, using FPGA technoloy. We've designed a multi-purpose material and coating thickness platform with a ton of capabilities. The CMX features include: auto probe zero, auto probe recognition, auto temperature compensation, and a stand alone coating only mode. The standard pulse-ehco and thru-paint echo-echo modes are also ongoing features included in the mix.

Not only will the CMX simultaneously measure the material and coating thickness, but it will also find pits & flaws at the same time! A custom calibration configuration for both the material and coating types offers extreme linearity. Our custom transducer linearity table enables all of our dual element transducers to operate only with precision.

Create and store 64 custom setups for all your common testing applications. Switch into the time based B-Scan view, to enable a cross section view of the material your inspecting. Kick the CMX into high gear, enabling our high speed scan at 50 readings per second!

Simply too many attributes to mention everything! Take a closer look at the .pdf specifications for further details regarding the CMX gauges.

The CMX DL - Counterpart

Click To See Larger - Hurray!! The CMX DL includes all of the features mention above in the CMX, but is equipped with a super data logger, to say the least! The data logger consists of two file formats: Sequential logging with auto identifiers, and alpha numeric grid. The file formats are currently compatible with UltraPipe asset management software.

Now, let's talk about the storage capacity...shall we? The CMX DL can store 16,000+ readings, with B-Scan captures and all gauges settings and features, or turn the graphics mode off and store over 210,000 readings! Enough said!

Oh and by the way! Don't forget to take a look at the price tag!

Let's meet some new members of Team Dakota!

Stephaine Brewton
Click To See Larger Image!! Stephaine has recently joined our team in the admin department. Her first assignment was labeled "operation bank deposit", code word: safensound. Step 1: change into her disguise; she chose a beige camouflage outfit with chainmail, nonetheless.

Step 2: She needed a new name. You guessed it, she went with Rambette! Soon to be changed, as you'll read on. Traffic was very lite that day, but she opted to set out on foot, in the intensity of it all. With only 6 minutes left before the bank closed, she pulled out her OJ Simpson Hertz Rental Car maneuver.

She scrambled through a creek bed, scaled 3 buildings, dodged 6 cars, and just 20 yards to the bank door, was intercepted by a street curb, breaking her foot. Well, as the story ends up, she never made it to the bank that day, and 7 checks bounced. But what she did end up with, was a shiny new cast, a set of crutches, and the new name "Peggy"!

Step 3: Welcome aboard "Peggy"!

Hang Phan
Click To See Larger Image!! Hang has recently joined our sales team. She's a recent graduate of our local hippie university, UCSC. Her studies included Economics as a major and probably something like horticulture as a minor, no doubt! Once we were successful convincing her to change her clothing attire from "full on tie dye" to conventional patterns, we set out to analyze the correlation between Ms Pacman vs Hang.

It's clear she's is winning the game at the moment, as we've only had momentary glimpses of her, as she blasts around the place, disappearing behind the walls in a moments notice. The rest of the Dakota staff have teamed up and taken on additional outside exercise programs in order to stay in the game. The good news is, she's setting all new pace records for order processing with precision. The bad news is the rest of us are going to bed a couple hours earlier every night.

Nice ta have you onboard!
